When and How to Prepare for a CMMC Certification Assessment (T01c)
Companies often ask how far in advance they should prepare for their first assessment. The answer is generally 6-8 weeks ahead of the evidence submission due date from your C3PAO. With the 6-8 weeks it allows companies to fully document and gather the necessary evidence and uncover any potential one-off issues. By identifying the issues well in advance it allows for the change management and implementation process to be documented and updates to any potential documentation to be made. Based on numerous assessments, both pre-CMMC Final Rule and after, this has been shown to be a recipe that will allow for a less stressful and likely successful assessment. During this talk the speaker will outline the steps taken in advance and some of the potential gotchas caught that could make a difference in a provisional CMMC Certification with a follow up POA&M closeout and a successful CMMC Certification.
