Questions We Should Be Asking About AI (M10c)
Artificial Intelligence capabilities are transforming elements of the economy, social interactions, academic institutions, and even national security. With great opportunity comes a variety of risks, some of which are glaring while the most are subtle, misunderstood, or ignored. In this provocative and oft-irreverent discussion on the strengths and weaknesses of AI, Brigadier General (retired) Greg Touhill, former Federal CISO and current CERT director will share updates on CERT AI security research, findings of the AI Security and Incident Response Team (AISIRT), and offer questions the speakers should be asking about AI capabilities before the speakers commit to the development or procurement of AI systems or capabilities. After this thought-provoking session, attendees will be better prepared to ask vendors the right questions; discern AI fact from fiction; develop and articulate improved requirements; understand and better manage AI risks; and deliver results that incorporate secure-by-design principles.
